Bill Spivey, affectionately known as “The Researcher,” is an original member and longtime co-host of The Thought Brothers Podcast. Known for doing his homework before the microphones come on, Bill brings facts, historical context, and a healthy dose of skepticism to the Brothers’ conversations. Whether the subject is politics, sports, relationships, culture, or the latest Barroom Argument, he has a knack for finding the detail everyone else overlooked. Bill isn’t afraid to challenge conventional wisdom—or his fellow Thought Brothers—when the research leads him in a different direction. His thoughtful, measured style provides an important counterbalance to the personalities and perspectives around the table. If somebody makes a questionable claim on The Thought Brothers, there’s a good chance “The Researcher” already has the receipts.

Carlos Prillman is an original member of The Thought Brothers and a Bank Manager who brings a practical, numbers-driven perspective to the conversations around the table. As the Founder and President of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Carlos is equally committed to service, with a mission focused on uplifting its program, supporting the school, and strengthening the surrounding community. On The Thought Brothers, Carlos is known for looking beyond the surface and asking whether an idea actually makes sense—financially, practically, and in the real world.
Whether the conversation turns to money, relationships, culture, politics, or one of the Brothers’ unpredictable scenarios, he brings a combination of analysis, life experience, and common sense. He doesn’t always agree with his fellow Brothers—and that’s exactly the point. When the conversation needs somebody to calculate the cost, weigh the risk, and check the numbers, Carlos is usually already doing the math.

C.J. Johnson is an original member of The Thought Brothers who brings a distinctly Millennial perspective to the table. A musician, media personality, and advocate, C.J. is equally comfortable debating sports, politics, relationships, culture, music, and the issues shaping his generation. His media journey began remarkably early—at just 10 years old, when one of his first interviews was with Baseball Hall of Famer Dave Winfield. Today, C.J. combines that lifelong comfort behind the microphone with the perspective of someone who isn't afraid to challenge the assumptions—or conclusions—of the generations ahead of him. His humor, candor, and willingness to say what he actually thinks often push The Thought Brothers conversations in unexpected directions. When the older Brothers think they have something figured out, C.J. is usually says something that makes them think that the younger generation may not see it that way.
